Dr. Neil Bucklew

Neil Bucklew is a native
of Morgantown and returned home in 1986 to serve as the 21st
President of West Virginia University. In 1995 he returned to the faculty in
the College of Business and Economics where he was a Professor of Management
and taught in the Master of Science in Industrial Relations program along with
other degree programs in the College. Prior to returning to WVU he held several
positions as a university chief academic officer and also served as President
of the University of Montana.
He attended WVU and
received his undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri. He attended
Duke University and the University of North Carolina holding a master’s degree
from UNC. He holds his Ph.D. in
Industrial Relations from the University of Wisconsin.
Neil retired in 2016 and is recognized as
President and Professor Emeritus.
He and his wife Connie reside in Morgantown and between them have six children and 15 grandchildren.
